What are facials?

Facials are an essential component of a good skin care regime, and at Prixus MedSpa, the team members view skin care not as a luxury but as a necessity. They have a carefully selected range of customized facials that are designed to help clients maintain healthy and naturally radiant skin. A facial at Prixus MedSpa includes expert skin analysis from an experienced Esthetician who truly understands your unique skin type and how to best care for it. Even if you have a regular skin care routine, you can still develop blemishes and find your complexion starts to look dull. Facials restore vitality and reduce blemishes without any need for invasive cosmetic techniques. Facials at Prixus MedSpa include professional strength exfoliation to smooth the skin and lighten discoloration from sun and breakouts, facial massage to increase circulation, and brightening for glowing skin.

What are the benefits of having regular facials?

The benefits of having regular facials at Prixus MedSpa include:

  • Deep cleansing
  • Anti-aging
  • Skin rejuvenation
  • Eliminate acne
  • Shrink pores
  • Improve overall complexion

Having a facial at Prixus MedSpa is also a perfect way to relax and let go of tension and stress, and just enjoy the expert pampering experience.

What happens when I have a facial?

Before your facial begins, your Esthetician cleanses your face and assesses your skin, looking at whether it’s dry, oily, or a combination of both. The specific treatments each client receives vary according to their individual needs, but typically include:

  • Steaming your face to relax the skin
  • Chemical or mechanical exfoliation
  • Removal of any blackheads and whiteheads
  • Facial massage
  • Application of a face mask to purify your skin
  • Application of toner, serums, moisturizer, and sunscreen

How often should I have a facial?

To keep your skin at its radiant best, you should have a facial at least four times each year. Having a facial feels so good you may want to have them frequently, but it takes about four weeks for skin cells to regenerate, so you need to leave a month between facials, and maybe more if you have sensitive skin.

MICRODERMABRATION

Microdermabrasion is a fast and effective way to remove the buildup of dead skin cells that makes your complexion look dull and tired. Prixus MedSpa is a luxurious medically supervised aesthetic facility located in Orlando that provides superior diamond microdermabrasion treatments that produce exceptional results. CallPrixus MedSpa today to learn more about the advantages of microdermabrasion, or book an appointment online.

Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure used to renew overall skin tone and texture. Microdermabrasion can improve the appearance of:

  • Sun damaged skin
  • Wrinkles
  • Fine lines
  • Age spots
  • Acne scarring
  • Melasma
  • Enlarged pores

At Prixus MedSpa, the team offers the most advanced microdermabrasion technology available today. Diamond microdermabrasion is light years ahead of outmoded exfoliation treatments that use harsh aluminum oxide crystals. The diamond microdermabrasion wand is encrusted with real diamond chips and has different settings to match your skin type’s appropriate level of exfoliation.

How does microdermabrasion work?

The diamond microdermabrasion applicator wand acts as an abrasive, literally sanding away the top surface of your skin. This might sound painful, but, in fact, diamond microdermabrasion is a gentle way of exfoliating your skin that doesn’t require any anesthetic or numbing cream.

As the handpiece exfoliates the dead skin cells from your face, it simultaneously suctions them away. Your experienced practitioner at Prixus MedSpa has the ability to use the precise degree of pressure required to ensure the abrasion takes place at the right level and that the suction on your skin is sufficient to remove dead skin cells without damaging the underlying tissues.

Is there downtime after microdermabrasion?

You don’t need to rest after microdermabrasion, just carry on with your day as normal. You need to keep the skin moisturized and protected from the sun, though; your practitioner advises you on what products to use and any precautions to take.

You should see an immediate improvement in your complexion after microdermabrasion, and a continuing improvement in skin tone as new tissues grow. Most clients benefit from undergoing a series of microdermabrasion treatments, which you can discuss with your practitioner.

Microdermabrasion, when combined with a series of photofacials, can deliver optimal results in restoring skin health and beauty. At Her Secret MedSpa, the team customizes your microdermabrasion plan to help you achieve a more flawless complexion. Call the clinic today to schedule a consultation, or book an appointment online.

CHEMICAL PEELS

Chemical peels can produce stunning results if your complexion is looking tired and dull, removing the layers of dead skin cells and revealing fresh, beautiful skin for a more youthful glow.

What are chemical peels?

Chemical peels are a great and effective way to address a variety of skin conditions and get smoother, younger-looking glowing skin.

The expert aestheticians at Prixus MedSpa recognize that each person’s complexion requires a customized treatment plan; therefore, they offer a full menu of chemical peels under the supervision of Medical Director Raphael Bones, MD, to ensure you achieve the optimum results from your chemical peel.

What skin problems can chemical peels treat?

Chemical peels are effective in treating a range of common skin problems and blemishes, including:

  • Acne
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Enlarged pores
  • Dull or rough texture
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sun damage

Chemical peels are excellent for enhancing skin tone and texture, and many clients find they achieve even better results when they combine chemical peels with a series of Microneedling treatments.

INJECTABLE

Injectables like Botox and dermal fillers are a fast and effective way to smooth out lines and wrinkles and reverse the signs of aging without undergoing surgery.

What are injectables?

Injectables are non-surgical treatments that, in the hands of the expert medical team at Prixus MedSpa, help you obtain a natural, beautiful appearance.

Injectables address a number of common aesthetic problems including wrinkles, crow’s feet, fine lines, deeper grooves, and loss of volume. The two main types of injectables used at Prixus MedSpa are dermal fillers and derivatives of the botulinum toxin.

How do injectable dermal fillers improve my appearance?

Injectable dermal fillers work in a different way to Botox, by plumping up the underlying tissues beneath wrinkles or in hollow areas like cheeks and temples with substances such as hyaluronic acid.

At Prixus MedSpa, facial sculpting and wrinkle reduction using injectables is safe, affordable, and effective. Find out more about enhancing your natural beauty with injectables by calling the clinic today or using the online booking form.

How does Botox improve my appearance?

Botox is an injectables that use a purified cosmetic form of the botulinum toxin to smooth out wrinkles. The products work by interfering with the signals that the nerves send to the facial muscles in the target areas. If the nerves can’t activate the muscles, then you won’t have the lines and grooves that typically form on your forehead and between your eyes, or crow’s feet at the outer corners of the eyes.

To achieve a natural look, it’s essential to have your treatment at a clinic like Prixus MedSpa where the practitioners are injectables specialists who have the skills and experience to inject the product in precisely the right place to ensure a perfect result.

A Botox treatment session takes around 15 minutes, so you can easily fit it in on your lunch break. Most people who have injectable treatments say the injections feel like a bug bite, just a swift pinprick that causes minimal discomfort. If you’re concerned about needles or have sensitive skin, your provider is happy to use a topical numbing cream at the injection sites.

Treatments with Botox start to take effect after 7 days, you should see a difference in your lines and wrinkles. Results typically last for up to five months.

You can also combine Botox with fillers for a liquid facelift effect.

DERMAPLANING

Dermaplaning is a physical exfoliation that utilizes a specialized instrument designed to scrape away accumulated dead skin cells and vellus hair. It is a comfortable, relaxing procedure that can be combined with other services to improve their efficacy.

Dermaplaning is ideal for women of all skin types and colors in their 30s and beyond who are interested in improving the overall health and appearance of their skin.

The results are immediate. We recommend coming in every 4 weeks to maintain results and see continued improvement in skin tone and texture while diminishing acne scars, fine lines, and pore size. Results are cumulative so your skin will continue to improve each time you receive treatment.

MICRONEEDLING

What is Dermapen Microneedling?

A hand-held device called Dermapen is used for microneedling. It activates blood circulation and stimulates generation of new collagen and elastin. With the help of dermapen microchannels are formed in the skin through which topical treatments are absorbed into the targeted areas with higher efficiency. During this process, a wide variety of active ingredients can be applied, HA and growth factors right into the skin. These ingredients activate collagen production, collagen being responsible for skin tone, texture, tightness and overall rejuvenation. Dermapen microneedling is popular for being one of the most effective anti-aging treatments in dermatology. It is safe to be applied on all skin tones; this is one of its advantages over traditional laser treatments or microdermabrasions. It is so gentle that can even target the area under the eyes, while the rest of the methods can not guarantee safety when treating such a delicate area. Another advantage of this technique is that dermapen needles are disposable and discarded after each treatment, which largely reduces the risk of infection.

Does Microneedling Hurt?

Some patients may experience mild discomfort during the microneedling procedure, while others might not feel any pain at all. Prior to the treatment a strong topical numbing cream is applied to the area of treatment that minimizes pain and discomfort levels. This is followed by sanitization of the area with alcohol. And only after the aforementioned two steps the actual process of microneedling starts.

Does Microneedling Work?

The end result of microneedling is healthy, glowing and youthful skin. Sometimes even one session shows such a result. Microneedling creates micro-injuries in the skin through which the body’s own collagen and elastin production is boosted. Although even one session is enough to see notable changes, Dr. Raphael Bones recommends taking three to five sessions for the best results. At the beginning the sessions need to be 3 weeks apart, then the frequency will be biannual to enhance the cosmetic results. To give the skin an overall touch of rejuvenation microneedling can be paired with dermal fillers and Botox. For more challenging cases with deeper wrinkles or acne scars Dr. Raphael Bones might also suggest other resurfacing treatments.

Microneedling Aftercare - What To Put On Skin After Microneedling

It is essential to use the right skincare products and follow a proper skincare routine after Dermapen microneedling to achieve your desired results. Sunscreen must be incorporated in the skincare of the patient before and after microneedling. Dr. Raphael Bones highly recommends using hyaluronic acid and Vitamin C serum as these two are rich in antioxidants that your skin needs every day. After the completion of the treatment your skin will start renewing itself and regenerating new skin cells. Because of that it is not advisable to use skincare products that contain retinol and alpha hydroxy acids, as well as any type of exfoliants during the first week after the Dermapen microneedling procedure. After a week you can freely go back to your regular skin care products.

PRP THERAPY

Combining Dermapen Microneedling With Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

When it comes to notable skin rejuvenation and visible minimization of aging signs, the combination of Dermapen microneedling and PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) has proven to be impressive. Many patients tend to choose enhancing Dermapen treatment with PRP infusion. The growth factors derived from the patient’s plasma that are used during PRP facilitate and speed up the process of healing and cellular regeneration, resulting in a younger-looking skin. Microneedling with PRP addresses discoloration and acne scarring, making the skin firmer and more radiant. PRP is also known for its orthopedic application, like joint treatment. Another effective application of PRP that Dr. Raphael Bones makes use of is treating female and male hair loss and other types of alopecia.

HYDROFACIAL

The HydraFacial treatment uses a medical grade hydradermabrasion technique that consists of three steps aimed at detoxification, exfoliation, and resurfacing, as well as hydration and rejuvenation of the targeted area of the skin. Those three steps are cleansing, exfoliating, and infusing sera into the skin. The difference on the skin texture with hydrafacial before and after results is obvious.

Part 1 – Cleansing

The HydraFacial MD Active-4-cleanser cleanses and clears the skin of dead cells that accumulate over time. Alongside cleansing and clearing, the HydraFacial also hydrates the skin. The serum works for almost anyone as it is not irritating – just more intense and effective than an average face wash or scrub typically used at home.

Chemical Peel

Based on the patient’s skin type and the desired outcome cleansing may be enhanced by chemical peels to intensify the effect achieved by the treatment. Dr. Raphael Bones makes sure to select the ideal chemical peel for each individual patient for skin exfoliation, wrinkle and sun damage reduction purposes.

Part 2 – Exfoliating

The cleansing process is followed by exfoliation during which dead skin cells are removed. Like with microdermabrasion, the skin is exfoliated by a specially designed suction tool. This ensures powerful action – more intense and effective than other extractions, aimed at dead skin removal and cleaning out of pores. The result is decongested pores and an overall reduction in their size.

Part 3 – Infusing skin with intensive sera

The third step of the HydraFacial encompasses hydration of the skin carried out with the help of various skin care and moisturizing ingredients. At this point the pores are completely cleansed and the skin is well-able to properly absorb these custom designed antioxidants and hydrating products, resulting in freshly moisturized and glowing skin. These products usually contain peptides, antioxidants, and hyaluronic acids meant to rejuvenate and replenish the skin. The HydraFacial serves its purpose perfectly for patients from different age groups, with different skin types, facing various skin irregularities caused by hormones, sun damage, and aging. This phase will leave you with cleaner pores and brighter, more hydrated skin. As a bonus, it requires no recovery time.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL

If you’ve had enough of shaving, waxing, plucking, and the accompanying pain, stubble, skin irritation, and regrowth problems these hair removal methods cause, then laser hair removal could be the solution.

What is laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal is a method of getting rid of your unwanted hair once and for all, using FDAapproved technology in the form of the state-of-the-art Icon aesthetic platform. By choosing permanent laser hair removal, you’ll never have to experience the nuisance of old-fashioned methods like shaving, waxing, depilatories, or electrolysis again. The highly trained aestheticians at Prixus MedSpa customize a permanent hair reduction program specifically to fit each patient’s needs, ensuring your treatment offers the effective, long-lasting solution you want.

BODY SCULPTING

There’s no such thing as the “perfect body,” but many of us have areas we wish were more tightened and toned. Exercise and diet only take you so far—especially for stubborn areas that don’t seem to budge no matter how many squats or crunches you do.

That’s where body sculpting (or body contouring) treatments come in. These non-surgical, in-office treatments use a non-invasive approach to reduce fat cells—and there are plenty of options if this feels like the treatment for you.

What is non-surgical body sculpting and how does it work?

What is non-surgical body sculpting and how does it work?

Body sculpting is the process of destroying fat cells with extreme temperatures, sonic vibrations, or acid injections to help the body flush them out of pesky areas. Most treatments can be done through non-invasive procedures that come with little to no side effects.

There are five different types of body contouring treatments to choose from. While you may get similar results with each type, these methods can look and feel vastly different.

The most common forms of body contouring are:

  • Cryolipolysis
  • Lipo Laser fat reduction
  • Ultrasound fat reduction
  • Mesotherapy
  • Muscle stimulation
